The Exterior Expert is based right here in Highwood — this is home turf, not a service-area afterthought. We know this town's housing stock because we've worked on it directly: the narrow-lot cottages built by the Italian stonemasons who settled Highwood starting around 1905, the mid-century infill that followed, and the newer construction filling in beside them.
Highwood's oldest housing stock carries real stone and masonry character — a legacy of the tradesmen who built this town — so siding and trim work here should respect a tight, close-set street rather than an estate-lot approach borrowed from elsewhere. The town also sits alongside the Fort Sheridan Historic District, and homes near that edge sometimes need a more deliberate, period-aware approach than the cottage core a few blocks over.
What we do in Highwood: siding, roofing, windows and doors, and portico & column work — planned first, then installed by our own crew.
Every Highwood project starts with the same written plan — here's the work itself, in detail.
No pressure, no handoffs. We look at the house, talk through the options, and put a plan on paper before any decisions get made.
